Thanks to everyone who showed up for our meeting last week. Good to see everyone after a long break.

Just a little business below:

We’re organizing our spring field trip (we’re thinking a hunger games inspired trip) Let us know if you have any idea.

Sorry guys – We updated this thing in August -but appears those updates didn’t get saved.

This year’s been going really well & we’re thrilled to see you all each month. Hope you all got to order one of the Book Club Tshirts (see design below). We’re keeping our fingers crossed they’ll be here before our next meeting on October 20th.

On another note – we’re looking for some volunteers to help us out one day next week after school. We’ll be sending out a red alert with more info – so be on the lookout for that.

While at the Missouri School Librarian Conference Ms. Arnett and Ms. Taylor got to meet Jay Asher, author of Thirteen Reasons Why. He was super nice and really funny. He even agreed to take a picture with my cell phone display of a student’s portrait of him. He’s writing another book that should be out this year sometime. The details are secret

April Meeting

Our April meeting is tomorrow morning. We’ll announce the 2010 Gateway Readers Award Winner, discuss Beautiful Creatures and If the Witness Lied. We’ll also talk about Goodreads.

By the way — I’ve only got pictures from one of the field trip groups. Please send those as soon as you can. Thanks!

Geocaching & Book Drop!

We had so much fun with everyone yesterday; hope you guys enjoyed yourselves as well. We already gotten one post on our blog from the book drop – keep your fingers crossed that we get more! By the way – if you’d like to drop a book while on summer vacation, just stop by the LMC to pick up postits & stickers. Also, don’t forget to send us your pictures with the title letters. We’ve already recieved them from Kathryn’s group (Thanks girls!). We’ll try to put together a display late next week.

Field Trip!!

The field trip has been scheduled for April 14th. Those of you who have attended at least 3 meeting and have read at least 3 of this year’s books are invited to attend. If you think you’re eligible – please, please, please stop by the library and talk to Mrs. White.

We’re going geocaching in downtown LS & then kicking off our experiment. We also need paperback book donations for the 2nd half of our field trip (our little experiment.) If you’ve got a book to donate – drop it by the Library. If you missed the last meeting and have no idea what we’re talking about – stop by the library and we’ll fill you in.

Gateway Party

Thank you to everyone who attended the Gateway Party and voted for their favorite this year. The winner will be announced at the Missouri Association of School Librarians Conference in a couple of weeks. We’ll post something as soon as we hear!

Wow – Snowpocolpse 2010 is defenitely messing things up. Thanks for showing to the January Meeting. Great Discussion. Hope you’re enjoying this month’s books, Graceling and Carter Finally Gets It. Our next meeting is Februray 17th. Keep your fingers crossed for no more snow!
